Working together to enable all learners to realise their full potential
All 15 schools in the Tauranga Peninsula Kāhui Ako closed on Friday 2 July for ‘Kotahitanga’, their inaugural Teacher Only Day.
This day brought together approximately 700 people from across the community of learning, including early childhood, primary, intermediate, and secondary schools alongside Iwi and other external organisations.
The day provided networking and learning opportunities and saw the launch of the TECT and Ministry of Education funded project Te Tai Whanake ki Tauranga Moana, inspirational keynote presenters Graham Bidois-Cameron from the Bay of Plenty District Health Board and acclaimed artist Graham Hoete (Mr G).
The day was also made up of two 40 minute workshop sessions across a range of areas which provided valuable learning experiences.
Priority One was privileged to be invited to present about the Future of Work and some of the opportunities and challenges we face as a region.
Instep Manager Andy Howells said “ It was encouraging to see the engagement from school staff who clearly see the bigger picture and are keen to work together to provide equity of opportunity – in terms of transitions into the world of work – for all our rangatahi.”
