As part of Techweek Tauranga Toi Kai Rawa launched Hihiko Te Rawa Auaha, a programme designed to unlock the potential in communities, focussing on digital technology and innovation. Held at Baycourt, schools from across the Bay of Plenty participated in science and technology workshops delivered by a range of organisations.
During the day students participated in workshops with Kiwibots, Digital Future Aotearoa, Beca, PlantTech, House of Science, and Rotorua Lakes Council, designed to support schools to engage in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics pathways. Students from Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Otepou, Te Kura Kōkiri, Whakatāne High School, Te Kura o Te Pāroa, and Te Kura o Te Moutere o Matakana enjoyed the opportunity to link with businesses.
Toi Kai Rawa also hosted a presentation at the Tauranga Art Gallery for businesses to network and learn more about the programme.
